Oooh! I think Dead Ringer's up on YouTube.

Yes! Here it is:

Enjoy your double dose of Davis!
Bettina Dawes: Clara Bowmothergoddamn on April 13th, 2009 09:43 pm (UTC)
I shall watch now! Even though I'm supposed to have an early night!

Why does MY youtube search only find trailers?

Oh, oh you should add my fellow Bette friend stillsparkling!

royaltyisshe64royaltyisshe64 on April 13th, 2009 09:50 pm (UTC)
Pshaw, you know your priorities! We've got to get you up at least to 50.

I don't know... I check YouTube kind of obsessively (I've got this vain hope that somehow Catered Affair will magically appear and I'll get to watch its glory again), and I use different combos of the filters because for some reason that makes different things show up. YouTube's a strange, strange place.

Oooh, will do! Bette friends = good.

I once had a list of ALL the Bette's online. It had Cabin in the Cotton everything! And the girl who had it deleted her account. Honestly! Some people!
royaltyisshe64royaltyisshe64 on April 13th, 2009 11:16 pm (UTC)
How could she treat us so thoughtlessly?

Cabin in the Cotton! Agh! My heart is sore.

Oh man... I should have warned you! It cannot be unseen.

I think I would have been ever-so-slightly more ready if it were, say, not Peter Lawford.

Other than this instance of deep hurting, how are you liking Dead Ringer?

"And away we'll go--OH OH OH! Off we're going to shuffle, shuffle off to Buffalo!"
Bettina Dawesmothergoddamn on April 14th, 2009 07:28 pm (UTC)
"Bette no! He'll sell you and your boob to the Kennedys!"

I liked it. Although Karl Malden (still alive!!!) was worst detective ever. She was still wearing the watch at the end!

Also, when they go to view the body-it's the gunshot side they are looking at? Traumatise much?
royaltyisshe64: The Beatlesroyaltyisshe64 on April 14th, 2009 11:46 pm (UTC)
I know, Karl Malden kind of failed at his job, didn't he? Also at being a boyfriend.

Ah, but you see, Bette was using a magic gun that caused a close range gunshot to the head to produce no mess whatsoever. 'Sall good.

Aw, he did get the night off to take her out though. Of course- a choice between a date with Malden or blowing off your twin sisters head...I'd struggle too.

Oh Hell's House. If only children didn't have such annoying voices, and if only Bette's character did, I don't know, SOMEthing, I would respect your concern for societal problems so much more.

Tomorrow pay day! So Mr Spada will be on his way to me. Can you think of anything else you need from the Pool? Or the Lake District since I'm there this weekend. XL Crisps? My God, they are good.
royaltyisshe64: Gene Kellyroyaltyisshe64 on April 15th, 2009 12:04 am (UTC)
Hmm... Not that I can think of--bless you! (I could eat crisps until I explode; it's probably unwise to get me started.) How can I repay you? If there's any more Bette I have that you'd like on YouTube, let me know!

GOD, I KNOW. Family Reunion is eternal. The pluses for me: adorkable baby Bette at the very beginning, moments of Bette fierceness, and the fact that Marley from Home Alone is in it for no readily discernible reason.

Also, it makes me a little happy to see her obvious love for Ashley.
